Before you could get the stuff in a fancy can, we would buy CASES of imported non carbonated Red Bull at Champ’s Hot Dog supply store near our office. It tasted like cough syrup, but was a bit punchier than today’s version. The Sid Lee agency asked us to design a 24″x36″ poster for a Red Bull event during the 2007 Montreal Grand Prix. It features the Red Bull F1 team and a lot of photoshop. Driving a +2GB file on an overheating imacG5 and a series of ASAP deadlines, this baby was a tough haul. It all paid off in the winner’s circle when we we’re showered with sweet and sticky Red Bull by half naked grease monkeys.
